D Day Stripes
On Friday June the 6th 2014 it will be the 70th Anniversary of Operation Overlord - or D-Day as it has now come to be known. Prior to the invasion, every aircraft taking part had black and white recognition stripes painted on their wings and fuselage to limit any friendly fire from the armada of ships crossing the Channel. This year, show your recognition of the bravery and sacrifice of the men and women involved in the operation by wearing your stripes.

Hornsea Civic Society seeks to encourage appropriate preservation, development and improvement of the local environment.
Hornsea Museum was established in 1978. Sited in an 18th Century farmhouse and the two adjacent cottages, it is a registered charity (No. 509615) staffed mainly by volunteers. Over the years Hornsea Museum has won numerous national awards and has been featured on television several times. The museum is not a relic but a living entity, changing with time, to reflect the changing patterns of village life in North Holderness over the past centuries.
The aim of the Trust is to establish a Home Front Tribute on the site of the former National Picture Theatre in Kingston Upon Hull.
