The Tree

At the end of Common Lane on the Bank of the River Humber just outside the Village of Welton there sits a Tree that harks back to the 2nd World War. We have no documentary evidence for who used this tree but we do know that the spikes driven into the trunk are the type used in military construction. The tree seems to have been damged by lightning strikes and probably would have had some sort of platform high in the canopy. Our last picture shows what the view takes in from the bank, if there was ever a place to observe River traffic this is it.
