Operation “Remember Them”

One of the largest projects we have ever done has been launched by H&ER@War and that is to photograph very single CWG Headstone of WW1 & WW2 in the County of East Yorkshire. We have found that many Graves are coming under Family Graves and may not have a CWGC Headstone, please if the CWGC website states that there for example 6 graves can we take 6 pictures, we cannot differentiate between one grave and another. You can find a Cemetery http://www.cwgc.org/ here that lists all the casualties  even before you go out so you know you have all of them.

  1. Check the Headstone for Damage. (If Damaged please report this to us)
  2. Check the Headstone is clean (If Dirty or Green please report this to us)
  3. Ensure your photograph is clear and that you can read the details on the Headstone. Remember a family member may look at this for the very first time and it will be your picture they see and read. Name your file the same as the headstone name

 Nice Clear example

We can send you a link to allow you to upload to our Google Drive, please contact us.

Lastly we want to thank you for your help and your name will appear on the website unless you do not want it to of a list of Researchers that have been involved in Operation Remember Them.

This will be the biggest depository of CWG Headstones in the whole of the County and we are proud to host this project and truly remember them.

PLEASE CHECK BEFORE YOU VENTURE OUT THAT THE CEMETERY HAS NOT BEEN VISITED
