Raid No. 65

On 15th January 1945 a Public Warning was given at 20.07hours and the Raiders Past at 21.55hrs. Two HEs (probably 500 Kg) and Six Phosphorus IBs were dropped as follows: - 2 HEs in allotments between Bilton Grove and Kidds Farm Marfleet. 6 Phosphorus IBs 2 in Stanhope Ave. 2 in Craven Park, 1 in Ellerby Grove, 1 in Rimswell Grove. Very little damage was caused by these Bombs except at the Ellerby Grove incident were extensive water main damage was reported. Unexploded AA shell fell at No. 1 St Georges Road causing damage to the front of the house.  AA Shell at 95/97 6th Avenue North Hull Estate causing extensive damage and fire to both houses.

Ten people were rendered homeless and One (1) Casualty (female) injured by AA Shrapnel, slight abrasions to right leg, was treated at First Aid Post.
