Raid No. 20

In this case the Air Raid Warning was in operation from 04.00 hours until 06.31 hours. Incendiary bombs were dropped on the centre of the city and in Cleveland Street and Hedon Road districts. Some fires resulted the principle one being behind Max Minden’s warehouse in Alfred Gelder Street; The Tivoli Theatre dressing rooms; the roof of the Bridge Chambers, Whitefriargate; a storehouse owned by Hollis Brothers Timber Merchants; a warehouse occupied by the British Extracting Co.; Foster Street and four private houses in Cleveland Street district.
