In this raid, the public warning sounded at 13-13 hours and lasted until 14.29 hours, about 13.45 hours, cannon shells were fired from an enemy aircraft presumably at the barrage balloons, three of which were damaged and had to be replaced later. Two of the cannon shells caused slight damage to residential houses, the first in No. 429 Marfleet Lane and the second at Nos. 7, 69, 71 and 73 Hopkins Street. The damage consisted of a few broken windows and no personal injury was caused. Six unexploded cannon shells were found by the Police later and were passed to the B.D. S
