Raid No. 34

The air raid warning was sounded at 21.05 hours on the 7th April 1941 and the “alert” period lasted until 05.13 on the 8th April. During this period only three HE bombs were dropped on the city, two in Kirklands Road and one near 820 Spring Bank West, two of these bombs exploded on impact but the third bomb did not explode until 16.00 hours on the 8th April. These bombs caused fairly extensive damage to property in the area but there were no civilian casualties.
