Raid No. 22

On the 4th February 1941, the air raid warning was sounded at 18.52 hours and lasted until 00.29 hours the following day. Two H E bombs were dropped in Goddard Avenue. The first one fell in the roadway and damaged several services and killed two men firewatchers. The second made a direct hit on an Anderson shelter killing two people, a man and a woman.
