Raid No. 28

The sirens sounded the alarm at 19.46 hours on the 1st March 1941 until 23.52 hours. Two parachute mines were dropped, the first at the rear of 269 James Reckitt Avenue and the second in East Park at the rear of No. 74 Summergangs Road. Extensive damage was caused to many houses and hundreds of people were rendered homeless. The casualties were 5 people killed and 7 injured.
