Raid No. 43

On the 29th May 1941, the air raid warning sounded at 01.11 hours and the raiders passed siren was sounded at 04.46 hours. During this period two HE Bombs and a few incendiaries were dropped in the Western Division. The HE bombs fell one on the Old Priory Sidings and did not explode and (2) on the London North East Riding sidings near the Cod farm on St Andrews Dock. Little damage was done in either case and no casualties resulted. In addition to this incendiary bombs fell in a few side streets off Hessle Road on some fish houses but here no serious fires resulted.
